Vector Portrait:
The Old Me

When I learned that we would be doing self-portraits, I was originally very nervous. I thought about my unphotogenic-ness and I thought about how I didn't know the right ways to perform a lot of the tasks in illustrator. I knew this was a big project and it would take a lot of work and I was worried. I was able to find the one picture that I had in my social media accounts that I liked and I began working on illustrating that picture. As I watched more and more of the video tutorials, my work was actually becoming something I could be proud of. This project helped me to learn that I actually can learn how to use illustrator if I put in the effort. I also learned that making a nice piece of work takes a lot of time and patience. I am surprisingly happy with how my self-portrait turned out.

Shape Designs:
Little Penguin

When I was given this assignment, I spent several class periods brainstorming and I could not decide on an idea that could be completed with my limited skill set. At the last minute, I decided to have fun with my design. I thought of the fun that I had had coloring in shape designs when I was in elementary school and I decided that I would make a rather childlike design that I would enjoy making. I learned that sometimes it is best to relax and make art in a funny and unexpected way. I also obtained a better basic understanding of illustrator and it helped me achieve a more positive attitude towards seemingly difficult projects.
